We all know taking on a challenge, and raising money for charity isn’t super easy. Here’s a couple of ideas we’ve seen recently from Virgin Money Giving fundraisers that you can use to help boost your fundraising total.
And because you can collect these through your Virgin Money Giving page, they’re added to your total!
Break down your challenge
A team of veterans are currently walking 1000 miles around Great Britain in their latest expedition to raise money for the Walking With The Wounded.
As well as collecting donations online and from members of the public as they walk, they’re also asking people to support them through ‘Buy a Mile’. For a minimum amount, supporters can have their name associated with a mile of the walking challenge.
You can do this too! If you’re running a marathon or cycling a sportive, why not try to get every mile of the challenge sponsored?
A nice way to encourage this is to acknowledge your donors in some way… Maybe you could present them with a framed photo of a selfie taken at the start of their sponsored mile?
Logo sponsorships by local businesses
If your challenge involves any kit or a support team, you can offer any extra space up to local business in exchange for a donation. Whether it’s small or large, you can take advantage of it, for example if you were doing a canoeing challenge, you could se the paddles.. Or the canoe itself!
If you’ve got a support vehicle like the Great Superhero Run, you can cover it in supporters’ business logos in exchange for a donation… There’s also room on a running top or cycling vest! Basically if it has room for a logo, it could earn you a donation.
Tried something that’s really worked for you? We’d love to hear from you so we can share it with other fundraisers. Let us know in the comments below or email mystory@virginmoneygiving.com
